Be still, he calls to me amidst the chaos in my life,
Lay down all your burdens, your confusion and your strife,
Be still, and know that I am God I gave my son for you.
Is there anything too difficult for me to see you through?
I part the mighty waters, I calm the raging seas,
Is any problem that you face far greater than me?
Why can’t you just be still, so I can work my plan?
Is it way too difficult to obey such a command?
Or, do you think you’d be better solving problems on your own?
Can you make the sun rise or draw water from a stone?
I have such gifts to give you if you learn to do my will,
By trusting me, your Master
and by learning to be still.
