I wish I had a time machine,
to take me back to when;
Life seemed so much simpler,
hanging with childhood friends.
For days when doing nothing,
could suddenly become quiet fun;
Hopscotch, bicycling, hide and seek,
soaking up the sun.
Back to when our greatest worry,
was someone tagging out,
Not like today with all the stress
of things not working out.
But if I use this time machine,
it would be for just one day;
Because of family and friends who love me,
I wouldn’t want to stay.
